8:57 am - Feedback question!
|
Sinces it's a rainy day, I see fic in my future.
I'm just wondering, how you as a writer prefer feedback? When a reader is obviously going through your archive stuffing themselves, do you want feedback on each individual story or one well thought out feedback? Or something else?

Is LJ having a problem? I realized today that LJ isn't updating my flist with everyone's new entries. I have to actually go to specific LJ's to read.
OR does LJ hate only me?
ETA: It must be me, as this didn't get posted for almost an hour.

Ran across this story. And had to wonder about my interactions with others through my own LJ. Anyone have any thoughts/comments about their LJ/on-line life?
I'd write more but the little one is hungry. Maybe later I'll put my thoughts up, but I'm actually more interested in what others think.
ETA: Wouldn't you know that I would screw up the tag for that story. Go here to see what the heck I was talking about.

Stolen from musesfool. I don't usually post quiz results, but this amused me.

If you can't laugh at the election year antics of both parties and the candidates in general; don't click the link.

1:21 pm - Happy Birthday! Almost.
|
I usually lock posts about my personal life, but this time I need to thank a few people so I'm leaving it unfiltered so that everyone can adore these fine individuals. (It's alphabetical to make sure I didn't miss anyone.)

arquiloren, chicklet25, claritylit, devildoll, imacartwright, jjblazer, roguewords, khakigrrl, lilmissrrhood, manada, stir_of_echoes, tinhutlady, tylergrrls (Diebin), and Diane from the WRFA.
These women have put together a nice gift certificate for my little fangirl-to-be, who by the way is turning out to be a procrastinator like her mother (seeing as how she has yet to make her appearance.)

*love and hugs*
Your friendship is greatly appreciated.
*waddles off before you see the tears*

5:13 pm - The things you find at the dump.
|
No, I don't dumpster dive. Out here in the boonies, the county sets out these huge dumpster for all the small communities to use. I guess it beats fighting forest fires because someone walked away from the trash barrel while it was still hot.
The dumpsters near us are unofficially dubbed "the mall". Everyone sets out the stuff that is still good next to the dumpsters so that it doesn't go to waste. Think garage sale without haggling over the price. We have left numerous items there for others. Including the old stove, that quickly replaced at "the mall" by an even older stove.
Anyway, the husband passed by them this morning and had to stop for an item. Someone had left a computer setting out. We are now the proud owners of another iMac. And the best part, it's not that old, the foster kid can use it without fear of breaking it.
*thinks*
Maybe we should cruise by "the mall" more often.

12:11 pm - bada-boom, big bada-boom
|
At 1:30 a.m. this morning Big Hole 69 sent forth the fireworks, with a repeat performance 3 hours later. In turn men swarmed the Pump House to make sure things where still functioning.
Sound like a bad porno. Nay, just a bad wake up call.
The utility pole outside, with a huge sign that proclaims it to be Big Hole 69, shot sparks early this morning. Caught the repeat later since I was no longer sleeping, then watched water dept. men check the water intake station, aka pump house.
To prevent grouchiness I have already taken a nap. Besides what's a girl to do when a night long rainstorm turns to snow and they shut off the power.

Written for comicbook100. Will post there later, I think. If you see any mistakes let me know.
Currently has no title, but is for this weeks Destruction & Chaos challenge.
Comic book: Ultimate X-Men: Weapon X arc
~*~
It wasn't new. The chaos left behind after a military operation. He was use to the death and destruction, he'd dealt out enough in his time with the 'military'.
This time though, picking through the rubble for clues, was different.
Personal.
Peter's guitar - splintered.
Hank's books - smoldering embers.
Xavier's wheelchair - mangled heap.
Too many uniformed scents - still fresh.
He knew what they had been looking for, but it...he hadn't been there. Following Bobby's still thawing trail outside, he caught his first real clue.
Creed.
This was too organized to be Creed's work. Someone else was in charge.
Colonel Wraith.

4:24 pm - Long time no post.
|
I've developed a problem. I'm becoming a clean freak, so much so that I was down on my hands and knees this morning scrubbing at the kitchen floor. I have a mop for that, so what the hell possessed me to clean in that manner?
In other news, I'm still here. Even took up musesfool's two lines/lyric challenge. I have rewritten this so many times it's not funny, but I think I'm going to have to kill Rogue to finish the story.
'Cause if he ever saw it, it was through these eyes of mine And if he ever suffered, it was me who did his crying
-"Tomorrow Wendy" - Concrete Blonde
( The story so far. )
To cheer myself up I decided to write a ficlet about Logan being an addict.
~*~
It took me several years to come to grips with the fact I had a problem. An addiction.
It's one of those things that kinda creeps up on you. The first fifteen years of my remembered like I spent knocking around several continents; doing a little of everything, some legal some not so legal. In-between I drank, smoked, fought and chased women.
Shit happened and before I knew it I had a whole mansion full of people that don't mind seeing my ugly mug hanging around day after day. Since I had a reputation to uphold, I lit outta there fast. All that 'caring' was tough on a guy like me.
I knew something was wrong when I began to spend more time at the mansion than on the road. It was hard fitting in, what with the lifestyle I was accustom to versus the school setting at the mansion. But I stuck with it, going out to pursue other interests as often as possible.
Certain things can only stay hidden for so long before they become apparent to those around you and my addiction was no different. More than once I heard about my sneaking around. The final straw was when Cyke told me to 'take control of my life before you drive everyone crazy.'
Acceptance is the first stage to recover and I'm ready to deal with my problem. Christ, I should be in some therapy group. Hi, my name is Logan and I'm a Marie addict.
Then again maybe I'll go for private sessions.
~*~
Comments or suggestions on either story would be welcome.
